At the upcoming Florida January 29 – February 1 session of The Aquaponic Farming Course,…
Co-Founder & Managing Director,
Green Acre Aquaponics
Green Acre Aquaponics, founded in 2010 is one of the first commercial aquaponic farms in Florida. As the Managing Director and CEO of Green Acre, Gina oversees farm business operations and manages sales, marketing and food safety as well as their Green Acre Harvest For You online produce market. Gina loves teaching and developed and directs their aquaponic training program, where entrepreneurs are taught how to replicate the Green Acre model and operate the hybridized aquaponic family farm.
Gina’s passion for aquaponics doesn’t end there. As co-founder and the inaugural Chairman of the Aquaponics Association, Gina built the organization to foster the growing industry by promoting aquaponics with education and outreach. She is dedicated to the mission of advancing aquaponics and also created the org’s Food Safety Committee to help overcome the current hurdles the aquaponic industry faces with food safety certification.
Before becoming an aquaponic farmer, Gina was the co-owner and managing director of a semi-national, multi-million dollar producing construction contracting firm. Gina received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in Anthropology with a minor in Education.
